The excitement among cricket fans has reached a craze rise as they expect fascinating fights between six Asian countries in the upcoming tournament, Asia Cup 2023. The practices from the teams partaking in the event are also in full steam.

However, the Sri Lankan camp has encountered huge tensions ahead of the upcoming tournament after two of their star players tested positive for Covid-19.

It is worth citing that Sri Lanka is the second most successful team in the Asia Cup tournament history, bagging six Asia Cup titles, and is even the defending champion. But the pandemic scare in the Sri Lankan camp ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 has sparked up tensions for the team.

Kusal Perera and Avishka Fernando, have tested positive for COVID-19. Both prominent batters are now under observation, and their availability for the upcoming tournament relies on their recovery.

The pandemic came up in the Sri Lankan camp after a few players of the team were already injured and unavailable. The team is yet to reveal their Asia Cup 2023 squad and will encounter a huge challenge in making a challenging line-up for the tournament.

The Asia Cup 2023 will begin on 30 August and will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan team will begin their campaign against Bangladesh on 31 August at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
