Saudi Arabia and Turkey discussed boosting trade as Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the president of Turkey aims to intensify bilateral ties and draw more foreign investment for his nation’s economy.
On Saturday, Omer Bolat, the Trade Minister of Turkey met with his Saudi counterpart, Majid al-Qasabi, in India, on the sidelines of a meeting of trade ministers of G-20 nations, according to a statement from the Turkish Trade Ministry.
Links between Saudi Arabia and Turkey have been bolstered after the two nations made steps to enhance links over the past two years.
Saudi Arabia decided to continue imports of Turkish meat and dairy products after the President of Turkey met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in July.
Bolat said in the Turkish ministry statement that we levied detailed actions that can be carried out on matters such as bilateral trade, contracting services, and cooperation prospects within the scope of Saudi Arabia’s 2030 vision. We consider that we will further develop our commercial ties in line with the high-level collaboration between our nations, he added.
Turkey recently has also been seeking better ties with other Arab nations, including the United Arab Emirates, and Bolat is also concerned about ways to boost investment and trade with Thani Al Zeyoudi, the UAE’s minister of state for foreign trade, his office said.
