In a recent candid conversation, BTS member Jungkook delved into the reasons behind his tendency to scrutinize himself over mistakes and his evolving perspective on self-improvement. The globally renowned K-pop star shed light on his personal growth journey and how he has learned to manage his perfectionism.

During the conversation, Jungkook referred to an old behind-the-scenes video and shared his thoughts, saying, “I’ve never been 100% satisfied as you all know by now so I’m not satisfied, but still, I didn’t make mistakes and I think it was alright.” This candid statement hinted at his unrelenting pursuit of excellence in his work.

The discussion caught the attention of many, and it was later revealed in an interview with Weverse magazine that Jungkook’s mindset has shifted over time. He explained that in the past, whenever he made a mistake, he would feel burdened by that moment and subject himself to self-torment. However, his approach to handling errors has transformed. Now, when he makes a mistake, he chooses to focus on improvement and ongoing practice.

“I started to keep things nice and simple,” Jungkook shared. He now engages in a positive self-dialogue that acknowledges errors as part of growth. He stated, “If you mess up, you just accept it and say, ‘I make mistakes too.’ That’s why I keep trying to do a good job.”

Before concluding the interview, Jungkook also expressed his perspective on what constitutes doing a “good job.” He emphasized his desire for unrestrained movement and uniqueness in his performances. “I don’t want my movement to be limited in any way. I want every single movement I make to be different, even if the dance moves are similar,” he said. He hopes to naturally convey a dynamic and distinct image through his performances.

Jungkook’s journey towards self-acceptance and growth is a testament to his dedication to his craft and personal development. As an influential member of BTS, his candid insights resonate with fans and provide a glimpse into the challenges and triumphs he experiences on his path to artistic excellence.
