On Tuesday, Ariana Grande, the “Wicked” star, is getting honest about her past experiences with Botox and lip fillers in a video for Vogue and told why she chose to leave them behind.
In a “Beauty Secrets” video for Vogue, published on Tuesday, the 30, year-old disclosed she’s “had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox,” which she stopped to getting in 2018.
Grande started to tear up as she described how these treatments caused her to feel like she was “hiding.”
Over the years, I used makeup as a disguise or as something to hide behind, which can be so attractive at times, and I still do have love for it and appreciation for it, Grande said.
The former child actress who started acting on Broadway and Nickelodeon said being in the spotlight from a child youth affected her connection with beauty.
Being exposed to so many voices at a young age and specifically when people have things to tell about your appearance and stuff at a young age, it’s really difficult to know what’s worth hearing and not, But when you’re 17, you don’t know that yet, Grande said.
Now, Grande said she considers beauty as “self-expression” and “emphasizing what is here,” instead of hiding it.
Grande said, “Our connections to beauty are so unique. Like, we’re here speaking about beauty secrets − isn’t it the secret that we all just want to feel our best and be loved? To each their own. Whatever makes you feel gorgeous. I do support, but I know for me I was just like, ‘Oh, I want to see my well-earned cry lines and smile lines. I hope my smile lines get deeper and deeper and I laugh more and more, and I just think aging can be such a beautiful thing.”
She added: “Now, might I get a facelift in 10 years? Might, yeah. But these are just opinions that I feel like we should be capable to concern.”
Grande has voiced out about beauty standards in the past, demanding her fans in a TikTok video in April to not remark on other people’s bodies after she came under probe for her weight.
