Tory Lanez posed for a new mugshot on Wednesday, days after he was denied bail and transferred to state prison where he will continue to spend time after being sentenced to shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
“Say It” rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is now at North Kern State Prison in Delano, Calif.
The 31-year-old rapper seemed unemotional in the new picture, which was revealed on September 20, five days after he was denied bail.
Lanez, the Canadian rapper, had requested Judge David Herriford to release him on bail so he could spend his time with his son and wife while his team worked on his plea.
However, Judge David Herriford denied the motion on September 14, quoting Lanez’s conviction for a violent felony, record of violating court orders, and foreign citizenship as contributing elements in the determination.
Lanez was convicted to 10 years in jail earlier this year for shooting Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, in the feet after a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home in July 2020.
Lanez was sentenced for careless discharge of a gun, assault with a gun, and having a loaded and unregistered gun.
Megan encountered criticism from Lanez’s fanbase after his sentencing but the “WAP” rapper had some alternative words for the critics during a performance at Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on August 14.
“F – – k all my haters. None of the s – – t you was doing or saying broke me. None of that s – – t y’all was doing or saying to the hotties broke them,” Megan, told her fans, referred to as “hotties.”
Meanwhile, Lanez claimed in an August 10 Instagram statement that he denies to “apologize for the accusations I’m being wrongfully convicted of.”
Lanez urged in the long-winded post, “I have never let a hard time intimidate me. I will never never let any jail time eliminate me. Regardless of how they try to spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will.”
Megan has moved on with her life since Lanez’s sentencing. She stepped into a barely-there catsuit during a night on the town the previous month and performed “Bongos” alongside Cardi B at the 2023 MTV VMAs on September 12.
