Ed Sheeran recently opened up about a memorable encounter with his friend Snoop Dogg that left him temporarily blinded due to excessive marijuana consumption.
This unique experience took place in March when Sheeran crossed paths with the weed aficionado rapper at one of his live performances in Melbourne. After the show, they decided to unwind, and Australian actor Russell Crowe joined them. Snoop Dogg, renowned for his love of cannabis, was well-prepared for the occasion, and Sheeran couldn’t resist the invitation.
Despite not being a regular smoker, Sheeran had always wanted to share a joint with Snoop Dogg. He humorously recounted this incident on the “Conan O’Brien Needs A Friend” podcast, detailing how the evening didn’t go quite as planned, ultimately leading to temporary loss of vision.
In 2016, Snoop Dogg made headlines by hiring a full-time joint roller, a decision that proved handy this year as they shared their cannabis-filled evening.
Sheeran explained, “I’ve sort of got quite close friends with Russell Crowe over the years, and he is really close with Snoop Dogg. I don’t really smoke at all, but I was in the dressing room, and they were just like blunt for blunt for blunt for blunt. I was like, I guess at some point during the night, I have to, just to say I smoked with Snoop Dogg.”
He continued with a chuckle, “He was like ‘Do you want some?’ so I have a bit, and I was like, I don’t feel too bad, this is good. Then I have a bit more, and then I have a bit more, and then I have a bit more. I just remember looking at him and being like, I can’t see right now.”
The hilarious anecdote sheds light on the unexpected and comical consequences of sharing a smoke session with the legendary Snoop Dogg.
