British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has shown his support for TV personality Holly Willoughby during a live appearance on the popular morning show, This Morning. This gesture comes in light of recent news about an alleged kidnapping plot targeting the beloved host.
Gavin Plumb, a 36-year-old man from Potters Field, Harlow, has been charged in connection with the alleged plot, facing serious charges of solicitation to commit murder and incitement to commit kidnapping. Plumb is scheduled to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.
Prime Minister Sunak took a brief pause from discussing government policies to extend his well-wishes to Holly Willoughby and her family. He expressed his sympathy, saying, “I wanted to send my best to her and her family and to all of you.”
The hosts of This Morning, Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond, also opened the show with a heartfelt message of support for their co-host. Dermot acknowledged the gravity of the situation, saying, “We’re not going to talk much about it but we have to start with the story of one of our own.” Alison added, “We are obviously all shocked to hear the news and we want to send our love and biggest hugs to Holly and her family.”
ITV, the network that airs This Morning, released a statement expressing its solidarity with Holly Willoughby. The statement read, “This news has come as a huge shock to everyone at This Morning and ITV. We are providing all of the support we can to Holly and her family at this incredibly distressing time.”
The alleged kidnapping plot has garnered significant attention and concern, with both political figures and the media industry rallying behind Holly Willoughby during this difficult period.
