Estonia is a country that is living on the edge of the future. Estonia is an e-residency and it is the most advanced and perfect country in the World.  It is a country from the future. In 2014, The government of Estonia open its country available to the rest of the World. Estonia allows non-residents the best e-residency services in the World. That’s why most digital residents are now running businesses in Estonia.

Online residency

Non-residents can achieve an Estonian smart ID card which can help them to have access to many electronic services just like Estonian citizens do. Non-residents can able to create and operate an Estonian company through an Estonian smart ID Card. However, they can’t enter Estonia by using Estonia smart ID Card as a travel document.

Estonia’ history

30 years ago Estonia restored its independence from USSR they didn’t have a lot of resources at that time but also 30 years ago the internet was invented and the World took it as fun. Estonia took it as an opportunity to build their country and progress it as soon as possible and better.

According to their resident, “Only two things you can’t do here in Estonia with help of technology, one is marriage and the other one is divorce but even that is a question of time”. In 2003, Skype build its initial startup in Estonia. Today this company has grown into a global business with over 300 million users. Even though Skype is now owned by Microsoft, it still has offices around Tallinn.

Advanced Digital Society

Estonia is the World’s most advanced digital society. Nowadays, World accepts Estonia as the World’s most advanced digital society. Bank branches are closing because there is no need for them. 99% of bank transfers are made electronically on a mobile phone or a computer. Estonian always have their solution in their pocket as their smart ID card.

Electronic ID Card

As of January 2012, 90 percent of Estonians chose to acquire an electronic ID card, which they use for almost all online services. The card contains a chip “which holds not only information about the card’s owner, but two certificates, one of which is used to authenticate identity and the second to render a digital signature.” It has a number of security features, including pin codes. The card is an identity and travel document for use within the EU.
