In a thrilling announcement, producer Irwin Winkler, 92, has confirmed that Michael B. Jordan is set to don the director’s cap for the highly anticipated Creed IV. The revelation came during an interview, where Winkler shared that filming for the next installment is slated to commence in about a year.

The news of Jordan’s return to the directorial role was met with enthusiasm from fans, as Winkler playfully responded to the query about Jordan’s involvement, stating, “I’m not supposed to say, but he will be,” prompting laughter from the audience.

Winkler also revealed that the production of Creed IV faced a delay due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, which concluded earlier this month. Despite the setback, Winkler expressed confidence in the upcoming film, stating, “We think we have a really good story, a really good plot,” emphasizing the anticipation surrounding the sports-drama.

Michael B. Jordan, acclaimed for his portrayal of Adonis Johnson Creed, the son of the legendary Apollo Creed from the Rocky films, made his directorial debut with Creed III.

The third installment saw the return of key cast members, including Jordan, Phylicia Rashad (Mary Anne Creed), Tessa Thompson (Adonis’ wife, Bianca), and Wood Harris (Adonis’ trainer). Notably, Creed III diverged from the franchise norm by not featuring Sylvester Stallone’s iconic character, Rocky Balboa.

As the Creed series continues to evolve under Jordan’s directorial guidance, fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter and the unique perspective the talented actor brings to the beloved sports-drama franchise.
