In the anticipation surrounding the global release of “Wonka,” leading actor Timothee Chalamet has slyly suggested the possibility of a sequel to the highly anticipated film. The 27-year-old star made this intriguing revelation during an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the movie’s premiere in Los Angeles.

In response to questions about the prospect of “Wonka 2,” Chalamet cryptically replied, “If there was a story to be told. And evidently there is.”

Director Paul King, who helmed the creation of “Wonka,” also expressed his eagerness to work on a follow-up film, stating, “I would love to.” King shared his vision of establishing a connection between Timothee’s version and the iconic “Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory,” which featured Gene Wilder.

Teasing a unique twist in the storyline, King remarked, “Something twisted happens. I don’t know how we started like this and ended there—I don’t know what the story is.”

In a previous interview with USA Today, Timothee Chalamet opened up about the joy his parents felt when he signed the “Wonka” contract. Reflecting on his performance, Chalamet credited his former teacher Sandy Faison at LaGuardia and paid homage to his grandmother, who sadly passed away during the film’s production. Notably, “Wonka” holds a special place for his parents, being their favorite project he has been involved in, leaving them thrilled.

As fans eagerly await the release of “Wonka,” Chalamet’s subtle hints at a potential sequel add an extra layer of excitement to the film’s already anticipated premiere.
