The Chief of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom has arrived in Aleppo which is an extremely earthquake-stricken city of Syria. He make his visit on Saturday, after five days of mass destruction followed by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey-Syria. The death toll has reached nearly 24,500 in Turkey-Syria including 3,513 death in Syria.
Tedros landed at Aleppo airport, according to the official news agency SANA, Along with Syria’s Health Minister and the governor of Aleppo, Tedros will tour some hospitals and shelters.
I am accompanying emergency medical supplies of around 37 metric tons. We are very happy that we could come with the supplies. This is the first supply we are sending.”

Moreover, he said that WHO would continue to provide humanitarian aids and bring more emergencies supplies for ‘trauma management’. While we will send another round with more than 30 metric tons. He expressed concern over the after-effects of the earthquake, especially the disruption of services.
People are exposed to diarrheal diseases… and other health problems especially mental health problems. We will work together to address the impact of the earthquake, not only the emergency services during the earthquake.”
