British Royal Family Shares First Post After Prince Harry’s Phone Hacking Verdict

After last week’s court ruling in Prince Harry’s phone hacking trial, the British royal family has broken its social media silence. The UK judge declared the Duke of Sussex a victim of phone hacking by MGN journalists, awarding him £140,600 ($179,600) in damages on Friday.

In their first post since the verdict, the royal family turned to Twitter and Instagram (formerly known as X) to share an update. The post revealed that Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, participated in a Christmas party with Ukrainian refugees.

The palace’s tweet included photos of the Duchess, stating, “The Duchess of Edinburgh joined 200 Ukrainian refugees at a Christmas party at The Lighthouse in Woking, a volunteer-led charity which runs a range of projects to support and encourage those who find themselves in need.

“HRH helped to serve lunch and tried her hand at face painting!”

The post continued, “The Duchess of Edinburgh has volunteered at The Lighthouse a number of times during and since the pandemic.”

This update marks the royal family’s return to social media after the recent court ruling, showcasing their ongoing engagement in charitable activities.
