In a legal twist, Meghan Markle could find herself providing testimony in court over claims of ‘racist royals,’ according to statements made by Peter Tickin, the attorney representing Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha.
Tickin shared his plans with The Sun to delve into these contentious claims under oath. The controversy originally arose when Meghan revealed in a 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey that members of the royal family had expressed concerns about her son, Prince Archie, before his birth.
The issue gained renewed attention when royal author Omid Scobie disclosed the identities of the royals mentioned by Meghan in the Dutch version of his book, Endgame. The legal showdown is scheduled for November next year, pitting Meghan against her half-sister Samantha, who filed a defamation lawsuit, alleging that Meghan portrayed her as a “liar for profit and fame” in the 2021 interview.
“The royal racists issue needs to be explored,” emphasized Tickin, a Florida-based lawyer. He intends to scrutinize the reasons behind Meghan’s estrangement from her family during the upcoming trial.
Tickin commented, “This is a person who wants to be able to say horrible things and not really care if she destroyed the lives of people in her family. She doesn’t care if she destroys the monarchy.”
In a further legal move, Tickin revealed his intention to file a formal motion next month, urging the Sussexes to provide a deposition – a formal statement under oath – as part of the ongoing lawsuit. The courtroom drama unfolds against the backdrop of Meghan Markle’s persistent challenges within the public and familial spheres, bringing attention once again to the complex dynamics surrounding the Duchess and her interactions with the royal family.
