If China allies itself with Russia then they have to get ready for World War III, Ukraine president Zelensky said after the rumors circulating that China now considering providing armed support to Russia against Ukraine. As we are just 3 days away from the first anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war as the world set its eyes on what will be the next step for Russia and Ukraine their war.
For us, it is important that China does not support the Russian Federation in this war. I would like it to be on our side.
At the moment, however, I don’t think it’s possible. But I do see an opportunity for China to make a pragmatic assessment of what is happening here.
Because if China allies itself with Russia, there will be a world war, and I do think that China is aware of that.”
Zelensky told the German daily Die Welt.
These tough comments come after when US President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to Ukraine yesterday. Biden expressed his solidarity with Ukraine ahead of the first anniversary of Russia’s war against Ukraine.
One year later, Kyiv stands. And Ukraine stands. Democracy stands. The Americans stand with you, and the world stands with you.
The cost that Ukraine has had to bear has been extraordinarily high. And the sacrifices have been far too great. We know that there’ll be very difficult days and weeks and years ahead. But Russia aimed to wipe Ukraine off the map. Putin’s war of conquest is failing.”
