Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah weds Saudi architect Rajwa Al Saif followed by Lavish Celebration

On Thursday, Jordon witness a splendid wedding celebration as Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah wedded Saudi architect Rajwa Al Saif. The Royal marriage ceremony was attended by royals and well-known figures from all over the World.

The wedding took place in the mid-century Zahran Palace in the capital Amman – the scene of other key Hashemite kingdom weddings including that of King Abdullah II to Queen Rania and also that of the monarch’s father, the late King Hussein bin Talal.

Hussain bin Abdullah and Al Saif, both aged 28, tied the knot at a ceremony attended by their families and 140 guests, including the United States first lady Jill Biden and Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton, who made a surprise appearance at the ceremony.

King Abdullah II and on the throne since 1999, has long educated his eldest son to follow him, take him on essential visits and meetings, former information minister Samih Maaytah previously said.

In 2009, Hussein became the successor to the throne after his half-brother Hamzah was removed by his father in 2004.

The newly refer as Princess Rajwa was born in Riyadh. She descends from the Al Sudayri family of Najd, called to be closely linked to the Saudi royal family.

Hussein followed his father’s footsteps by attending Britain’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and then studying history at Washington’s Georgetown University. While his bride was also Western-educated, having studied architecture at Syracuse University in New York.

Other renowned guests including the Netherlands’ King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima, as well as Belgium’s King Philippe and Crown Princess Elisabeth and Danish Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, attended the ceremony on Thursday.

The highly anticipated weddings were met by extravaganzas across Jordan, with thousands gathering to see the parade in Amman in streets decorated for the event with pictures of the couple and banners.

A royal red motorcade traveled the capital from Zahran Palace in the center to Husseiniya Palace in the west. Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein and Saudi Rajwa Al Saif wave to well-wishers.
