BTS’ RM has announced a second full-length solo effort, titled Right Place, Wrong Person. The album will arrive on May 24th.
The follow-up to 2022’s Indigo is set to focus on “moments of feeling like a stranger, out of place” and will contain 11 tracks, all of which bear lyrical contributions from the BTS leader, songwriter, and rapper.
RM wrote and recorded the project prior to beginning his compulsory period in the South Korean military — while his bandmate Jin is set to finish his enlistment in June of 2024, RM won’t complete his time until June 2025. Until then, this project “marks his return after one year and five months” and “reveals an added layer of his unique artistic depth.”
Recently, BTS member j-hope unveiled a docuseries and accompanying mixtape titled Hope on the Street, which had also been recorded prior to enlisting.
A statement from BIGHIT MUSIC reveals, “Right Place, Wrong Person embodies facets of RM as a solo artist, distinct from albums released under BTS” and teased an alternative sound to the project.
Indigo, which followed multiple solo mixtapes from RM, featured collaborations with artists like Erykah Badu, and Anderson .Paak, and Tablo of Epik High.
According to a mysterious Instagram account opened in recent months, RM may have collaborated heavily with CoSign alums Balming Tiger on Right Place, Wrong Person.
