‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 came out big as the recent season bagged a big number on Netflix on the series’ opening weekend. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the third season of Bridgerton recorded the show’s biggest opening weekend ever.
After the show’s May 16 premiere, Netflix’s internal rankings ranked the first half of season three with 45.05 million views (total hours watched divided by running time) worldwide.
That’s about 165.2 million hours of viewing time.
In contrast, season two started in March 2022 and garnered slightly over 193 million hours of global viewing time. However, that season’s complete runtime was more than twice as lengthy as the current season’s first half.
Thus, it received about 22.7 million views over its debut weekend. While the current run has four days for the beginning period, season two also had three, but the extra day only makes up a minor portion of season three’s lead.
Netflix’s 50 million subscribers worldwide as compared to March 2022, and the shorter run time for the four episodes of season three, may have helped Bridgerton in getting to its high opening weekend.
Bridgerton broke another record besides one for its opening weekend, recording the highest single weekly view count for any Netflix series.
