Meghan Markle is counted among the best-dressed people in the World and while she amazed her fans with her sartorial choices during her trip to Nigeria, people from the nation aren’t too impressed with the Duchess.

This was the exact trip in which Meghan stated that she has roots in Nigeria and ever since she discovered that she has 43% Nigerian roots based on a DNA test, she’s been wanting to visit the African nation.

Nigeria’s First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu sent a powerful message to the nation’s women and warned Nigerian women not to copy US celebrities too much in their approach to fashion and styling.

The wife of the Nigerian President said nation women should avoid copying Hollywood’s bold fashion trends. In a meeting to celebrate her husband’s first year in office, she asked young people to wear modest clothes and avoid showing outfits popular in the US.

Remi Tinubu to Young Nigerian Girls : “We are not hosting MET Gala, nakedness is not beauty"

We don’t accept nakedness in our culture. We know who we are, don’t lose who we are. The men are clothed and the young beautiful girls are going naked.

She said, “We have to salvage our children. We see the way they dress. We are not having the Met Gala. And everyone, the nakedness, is just everywhere and the men are well-clothed.”

Hinting at Meghan Markle’s choice of clothes during her visit, the Senator said, “Tell them we don’t accept nakedness in our culture. That is not beautiful. It’s not beautiful at all.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited Nigeria to support the Invictus Games. Their visit was met with mixed reactions from the people of Nigeria. Some criticised her choice of clothes while some were happy that the royals visited to promote something they are close to.
