Matthew Lewis is not interested in returning to Harry Potter

Matthew Lewis, who famously portrayed Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter film series, has voiced no hurry to revisit the Wizarding World, despite the upcoming Harry Potter TV series.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Lewis shared his thoughts on potentially reprising his beloved character for the Max reboot, indicating that he’s in no hurry to return to the franchise.

“The reason I got into this job in the first place was because I have a very short attention span,” Lewis explained during an event at the Harry Potter New York store.

“I am very, very poor at maintaining anything for any length of time. I’ve had many, many hobbies and passions over the years. Not a single one do I still do. I fall madly in love with things and then almost immediately forget about them.”

But he said it wouldn’t be a hard no if someone from the new Harry Potter series asked him to come back.

“It’s not something I’m looking at or want to do but would not turn my nose up at,” Lewis added.

“I’d be very interested to see if it was Neville as an adult — a whole different vibe. That could be interesting. I would certainly look at that and consider it.”

An all-encompassing ten-year Harry Potter relaunch that includes every book authored by J.K. Rowling has been revealed by Warner Bros. Discovery.

The next seasons of the revival will adapt each of the series’ books over the next ten years, starting with the 2026 premiere on Max.
