Cardi B is prioritizing her health and well-being after announcing the cancellation of her performance at the upcoming ONE Musicfest due to a medical emergency. The rapper took to social media on October 23 to share her disappointing news with fans.
In her message posted on X, Cardi, 32, expressed her sadness about the situation. “I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency for the last couple of days, and I won’t be able to perform at ONE Music Fest,” she wrote. She added that it broke her heart not to see her fans, thanking them for their understanding and assuring them that she would return “better and stronger soon.”
While Cardi did not provide details about her medical condition, she previously opened up about a serious incident in August that left her in considerable distress. During a conversation on X Spaces, she described a “freak accident” that caused her to feel “paralyzed” for two days. The rapper recounted slipping while going down the stairs, saying, “I practically fell, but I was trying to prevent myself from falling, so I was holding onto the railing. My foot still slipped, and I kind of busted my ass.” Following the fall, she experienced a painful sensation and was unable to get up.
Medical evaluation revealed that Cardi had torn a ligament in her pelvis, which was particularly concerning as it was near where her baby’s head was positioned. She shared that she experienced contractions every two minutes for an extended period, requiring close monitoring by medical staff.
The news of her performance cancellation came shortly after Cardi expressed her frustrations with her estranged husband, Offset, in a series of now-deleted posts on X. She shared her feelings candidly, stating, “I wish the worst on this man… I never hated somebody so much.” Responding to a fan’s comment about Offset being the father of her children, she clarified, “Yea he is. That’s why I don’t wish him death… but I truly hate this dirty ass narcissistic piece of s—.”
Cardi B and Offset share three children together: Kulture, 6, Wave, 3, and a baby girl born in September. Cardi filed for divorce from Offset for the second time on July 31, with a representative confirming that the split was not related to rumors of infidelity but had been a long time coming.
Despite the challenges she faces, Cardi B remains active in her career. Just a few days before her health announcement, she made a public appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City and celebrated her 32nd birthday with a star-studded party, humorously declaring that she would “never drink again.” Fans continue to support her during this difficult time, wishing her a swift recovery.
