John Legend recently offered some valuable words of wisdom to fellow Sexiest Man Alive John Krasinski during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. Legend, who was named Sexiest Man Alive in 2019, reflected on his own experience with the honor and gave Krasinski advice on handling the public reaction that comes with it.
When asked by Hudson about his time as the cover star, Legend shared the ups and downs that come with such a title. “I always tell people, ‘You’ve got to take the good with the bad when you get something like this because if you go on social media, there will be a lot of people congratulating you, and then a lot of others saying, ‘It should’ve been blah blah blah,'” the EGOT winner explained.
Legend continued, emphasizing a key piece of advice he received from previous Sexiest Man Alive honorees. “The best advice I got from people who had gotten it before was just don’t look at your social media,” he said.
When asked if he would pass along the same guidance to Krasinski, Legend—who is a big fan of The Office—said with a smile, “I’m sure I didn’t have to tell him. He knows a few other ‘Sexiest Men,’ and he probably got that same advice.” Legend also recalled his time working alongside Krasinski, adding, “I used to see him on set all the time. I’m very happy for him, but don’t look at your comments, bro.”
In addition to sharing his advice, Legend also entertained the audience by performing an impromptu song for his wife, Chrissy Teigen, based on a funny photo of her. Legend’s playful moment added a lighthearted touch to the conversation, showcasing his musical talents and his love for his wife.
As both men navigate the fame that comes with being named Sexiest Man Alive, it’s clear that Legend’s advice is one rooted in experience, encouraging Krasinski to focus on the positives and avoid getting caught up in the opinions of others.
