“What was really going through my head was, ‘You’re being an a—–e right now,’” Kyle said about Garcelle’s comment. “Don’t try to act like oopsie daisies. You know exactly what you’re doing,” she added, making it clear that she didn’t appreciate the bluntness of Garcelle’s words.
The exchange occurred during a conversation in which Kyle was discussing her separation from her husband, Mauricio Umansky. Garcelle interjected, “Do whatever the f— you want to do. Be whoever you want to be. If you want to be a lesbian, be a lesbian.” Kyle, who initially appeared shocked by the comment, was quick to regain her composure as the other women laughed off the moment.
Garcelle later explained her intent behind the remark, stating, “Where I was coming from that night when I said it, it was about we are grown-ass women. We’re people’s mothers, we’re people’s grandmothers. I wasn’t pushing her to come out. What I was saying is be whoever you want to be.”
The comment comes at a time when speculation about Kyle’s relationship with country singer Morgan Wade has been a frequent topic on the show.
