Marvel Studios’ latest installment, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has sparked controversy following the release of its promotional materials. Fans have raised concerns over the authenticity of the film’s poster, speculating that it may have been generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The promotional poster unveiled prior to the film’s trailer, featured several inconsistencies that caught the attention of the fan community. Observers noted anomalies such as duplicate facial features and characters with an incorrect number of fingers, leading to speculation about AI involvement in its creation. In response to these concerns, a Marvel Studios spokesperson clarified that AI was not used in the poster’s design, attributing the discrepancies to human error.

Despite the controversy surrounding the poster, the film’s trailer has been well-received by audiences. The teaser introduces a retro-futuristic 1960s setting, showcasing the Fantastic Four as they confront the cosmic entity Galactus. The cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is scheduled for theatrical release on July 25, 2025. The film aims to integrate the Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, offering a fresh narrative direction that departs from traditional origin stories. Fans are eager to see how the new iteration of the team will be received and how it will influence future Marvel projects.
