Travis Kelce has finally addressed speculation about his possible retirement following the Kansas City Chiefs’ loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl.
During the February 12 episode of his New Heights podcast, the NFL star and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend admitted that the defeat still stings but remains undecided about his future in football.
“I know everybody wants to know whether or not I’m playing next year, and right now, I’m just kicking everything down the road,” Kelce revealed. He assured fans he is “not making any crazy decisions” just yet.

For now, his priority is supporting his teammates and coaches, recognizing the immense dedication that goes into the sport.
Reflecting on his demanding career, Kelce pointed out that he has played more football than most players in the league over the past five to six years due to the Chiefs’ consistent appearances in AFC Championships and Super Bowls.
“That means I’m playing an extra three games more than everybody else in the entire league,” he explained, acknowledging the physical and mental toll.
Kelce admitted that the grind of the season had been particularly challenging this year.
“That process can be grueling. It can weigh on you,” he said, adding, “It can make you better, but it can also drive you crazy. And it was kind of driving me crazy this year.”
While Kelce has yet to confirm his plans for the next season, his remarks suggest he is carefully weighing his options before making a final decision.
