Aaron Paul Reflects on Lasting Fame from Breaking Bad and His Iconic Catchphrase

Aaron Paul, who rose to fame as Jesse Pinkman in Breaking Bad, has shared his thoughts on the lasting impact the show continues to have on his life, even 12 years after it ended.

While Breaking Bad concluded over a decade ago, the 45-year-old actor is still instantly recognized for his portrayal of the troubled drug dealer, Jesse. Fans not only remember his complex character but also continue to refer to him by his famous catchphrase, “b****,” a phrase that became synonymous with Jesse’s persona.

In a recent interview, Paul confessed that being randomly called “b****” by fans is still something he experiences regularly. He noted that it’s “very much a problem,” but also expressed disbelief over how the catchphrase has stayed with him for so long. “It’s wild,” Paul remarked. “The show’s been done for so long, and people are still calling me that. But I feel super proud to have played this character.”

During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the actor, known for his role in Need for Speed, acknowledged that while the show aired years ago, a new wave of viewers are still discovering it. “But a lot of people are being, you know, introduced to it now,” he explained.

Paul humorously claimed to have been called “b****” more times than anyone else on the planet, but he doesn’t take offense. Instead, he sees it as a testament to how his character resonated with fans. “My character kind of made it more of a term of endearment, a little bit,” Paul explained.

Breaking Bad, which stars Paul alongside Bryan Cranston, tells the story of Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, turns to cooking meth to secure his family’s financial future. He partners with Jesse Pinkman, a seasoned drug dealer, in this morally complex and gripping crime drama.

Despite the show’s end over a decade ago, its legacy continues to shape Aaron Paul’s career, with the actor proudly reflecting on the character that brought him international recognition.
