Gwyneth Paltrow recently opened up about her co-star Timothée Chalamet in a candid interview with Vanity Fair, calling him “a thinking man’s sex symbol” and sharing her admiration for his professionalism and charm on set. Chalamet, who stars alongside Paltrow in the upcoming film Marty Supreme, earned high praise from the Iron Man actress, who described him as “very polite” and “properly raised.” Paltrow went on to emphasize that Chalamet is someone who “takes his work really seriously” while also being “a fun partner” during filming.
In the interview, Paltrow also discussed her thoughts on intimacy coordinators, a relatively new role in the film industry that provides guidance during intimate scenes to ensure the comfort and safety of actors. Paltrow admitted she was unaware of intimacy coordinators’ existence until recently. Reflecting on her early career experiences, Paltrow shared that when she was starting out, intimate scenes were often approached with much less structure—actors would simply “get naked, get onto the bed, and the camera’s on.”

However, Paltrow noted that she felt some discomfort with the more controlled approach, mentioning a particular moment when an intimacy coordinator asked if she was comfortable with a specific move. She expressed that being told exactly what to do during intimate scenes would have felt “very stifling” to her as an artist. Despite this, she acknowledged that younger actors today might have a different perspective and might appreciate the added support and clarity provided by intimacy coordinators.
In addition to Paltrow and Chalamet, the star-studded cast of Marty Supreme includes Fran Drescher, Abel Ferrara, and Tyler. Directed by Josh Safdie, the film is slated for release on December 25, 2025. Fans can look forward to seeing Paltrow and Chalamet’s dynamic performances on the big screen in this highly anticipated film.
