Prince William and Kate Middleton’s family is growing—not just with their three children, but now with new furry additions! Their beloved black cocker spaniel, Orla, recently gave birth to a litter of healthy puppies, delighting the royal household, according to sources reported by The Sun.
Though Buckingham Palace has yet to officially confirm the news, those close to the family revealed that both mother and puppies are thriving. The royal children—Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (10), and Prince Louis (7)—are reportedly excited about the new pups and hope to keep them as part of their growing family.

The arrival of these new royal puppies brings extra joy, as a source explained, “Everyone loves new royal baby news, and royal puppies run very close.” This addition is especially sweet given the family’s deep love for dogs.

Orla, whose name means “golden princess” in Celtic, joined the family in 2020, gifted by Kate’s brother James Middleton. She came into the family shortly after the passing of Lupo, another cherished black cocker spaniel who had been a longtime companion to William and Kate. Lupo was a special gift from James to the couple during a difficult period in William’s life.
Orla has since become a fixture in royal life. The family shared a rare Instagram photo of her on National Pet Day in April 2025, showing Orla enjoying the outdoors and celebrating the joy pets bring to their lives.
Over the years, Orla has joined the royal family at many events, including watching Prince William at the Royal Charity Polo Cup and even appearing in Princess Charlotte’s birthday portraits.
With these adorable puppies now part of their lives, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children are sure to have even more love and laughter at home.
