Disney’s animation powerhouse is gearing up for another magical adventure as Frozen 3 inches closer to reality. Jared Bush, Chief Creative Officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios, recently teased exciting developments surrounding the highly anticipated sequel during his appearance at the Annecy Animation Festival.
While promoting Zootopia 2, Bush gave Collider a subtle yet promising update on the third installment of Frozen, igniting fresh excitement among fans worldwide.
Jared Bush Hints at a Powerful Return to Arendelle
Without revealing too many plot specifics, Bush hinted that Frozen 3 will be a standout chapter in the saga of Elsa, Anna, and their beloved companions.
“Some of that is under wraps,” Bush said, “but what I’d share with you is that right now, the work being done on Frozen 3, specifically, is phenomenal.”

He emphasized the magic of returning to the icy kingdom, saying, “The entertainment value of watching them go on a new journey, one that feels very organic to the story they’ve already been on, is fantastic.”
Creative Precision at the Core of the Process
Bush also addressed the importance of maintaining storytelling excellence, stressing that quality takes time. “For me personally, I think that it’s critical to make sure that every movie we do is fantastic,” he said.
He elaborated on the studio’s approach: “We have the luxury of being able to look at movies many times, so looking at Frozen 3 as, ‘Can we tell the very best story we can with that and not worry about where we’re going to split into that next story,’ is sort of important. One thing at a time is, to me, the best way to approach it.”
What to Expect from Frozen 3
Although details remain under wraps, fans can expect Frozen 3 to build on the emotional and narrative arcs established in the first two films while exploring new adventures. With the franchise already a cultural phenomenon and box office juggernaut, expectations are sky-high.
Disney has confirmed that Frozen 3 is currently in development and is expected to premiere in 2027.
