Prince Harry released a stirring video message on June 15, just hours after the Royal Family gathered for the annual Trooping the Colour celebration in London. The Duke of Sussex’s message was dedicated to honoring Germany’s first-ever Veteran’s Day and highlighted his ongoing commitment to global service and military recognition.
The video, shared by The Sun, opens with Harry warmly greeting viewers in German: “Guten Tag Deutschland!” Wearing four of his ceremonial medals, including the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Harry described it as a “profound privilege” to address the German nation on what he called a “sacred day.”
Reflecting on his last visit to Germany during the 2023 Invictus Games, the Duke expressed heartfelt gratitude. “The warmth, the enthusiasm, and the unwavering support shown by the German people… was truly humbling,” he said. “You certainly delivered on your promise to create a home for respect.”
Drawing on his 10 years of service in the British Army, Prince Harry used the moment to emphasize the importance of veterans around the world. “Veterans are more than warriors — they are leaders,” he stated. “Loyalty must never lie with power alone, but with the people. With truth.”

Although he is no longer allowed to wear his military uniform at royal events, Harry continues to advocate for veterans and service members. “We serve not to glorify war, but to protect peace,” he added. “To uphold a collective oath – to country, to people.”
He concluded the heartfelt video with words of unity and appreciation, saying, “Vielen dank und einen schönen Tag” (“Thank you and have a nice day”).
The release of the video notably came just one day after the rest of the Royal Family, including King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the King’s official birthday parade. Neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle were in attendance.
The Duke’s video has since sparked discussions online, with fans and royal watchers noting the timing and powerful message behind his solo appearance.
