Meghan Markle is embracing a new chapter of openness and authenticity — and it all started with a viral video straight from the delivery room.
In the latest episode of Aspire with Emma Grede, premiering Tuesday, June 17, the Duchess of Sussex gets candid about sharing her real self online and reflects on a special moment with husband Prince Harry that recently went viral on Instagram. The moment? A throwback clip of her dancing with Harry during labor — fondly dubbed the “Baby Momma Dance.”
Meghan, 43, originally shared the playful video on June 4 to mark their daughter Princess Lilibet’s 4th birthday. Alongside the video, she wrote:
“Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn’t work — there was only one thing left to do! 😂”
A Peek Behind the Curtain of Royal Life
In an exclusive preview of the podcast shared with PEOPLE, Meghan tells host Emma Grede — SKIMS founding partner and CEO of Good American — that she’s finally feeling empowered to share her story in her own voice.
“You have to be authentic,” Meghan says. Laughing, she adds, “Did you see my ‘Baby Momma’ dance?”
Grede enthusiastically confirms she did — multiple times:
“We maybe watched it like 20 times yesterday… I was like, okay… good on Harry, let’s go! But that’s you, right? That’s you in a way we haven’t seen before.”
The moment was more than just a lighthearted dance — it was a powerful symbol of Meghan reclaiming her narrative.
“That was four years ago,” she says. “It’s a reminder that while people talk or speculate, there’s a whole real, joyful, authentic life happening behind the scenes.”
A Return to Social Media — On Her Own Terms

Now, with her return to Instagram and the launch of her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, Meghan is taking control of how she shares her story.
“I’m just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms,” she adds.
The viral “Baby Momma Dance” is just one piece of a larger effort by Meghan to show fans the woman behind the titles — the mom, the wife, the creative, and the dreamer.
Earlier this month, Meghan celebrated Lilibet’s birthday by posting never-before-seen photos of Prince Harry with their daughter, calling her “Daddy’s little girl and favorite adventurer.” And on Father’s Day, she shared a sweet tribute to Harry with heartfelt clips of him spending time with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
“The best,” Meghan captioned the video. “Happy Father’s Day to our favorite guy 💕”
As Meghan continues to step into the spotlight on her own terms, fans are getting a fresh, unfiltered look at the real woman behind the royal headlines — and they’re loving every second of it.
