Prince William Supports Wales Women’s Football Team Ahead of UEFA Euros Debut

Prince William, a long-time supporter of British football, extended a heartfelt message to the Wales women’s national team ahead of their historic UEFA Women’s Euros debut this Saturday. As patron of the Football Association, the Prince of Wales took to social media to show his encouragement with a special message written in fluent Welsh.

Tough Debut for Wales Against the Netherlands

Despite the royal encouragement, Wales faced a challenging opening match, falling 0-3 to the Netherlands in their first-ever appearance in the tournament. While the result wasn’t what the team had hoped for, their presence in the competition marks a major milestone for women’s football in Wales.

William Also Supports England’s Lionesses

Earlier in the week, Prince William also visited St. George’s Park in Burton upon Trent, where he met with the England women’s national team ahead of their critical match against France. The Lionesses played with determination, managing to score once, but were edged out after a second-half goal by France’s Sandy Baltimore.
