Angelina Jolie may soon be saying goodbye to Los Angeles. The Oscar-winning actress and humanitarian is reportedly preparing to relocate abroad once her youngest children, twins Knox and Vivienne, turn 18 next year.
According to PEOPLE, the 50-year-old star — who shares custody of her six children with ex-husband Brad Pitt — never intended to live in Los Angeles full-time. However, the long-running custody arrangement kept her based in the city.
“Angelina never wanted to live in LA full time,” a source told the outlet. “She didn’t have a choice because of the custody arrangement with Brad. She plans to relocate as soon as Knox and Viv turn 18 next year. She’s eyeing several locations abroad and will be very happy when she’s able to leave Los Angeles.”
Jolie, who finalised her divorce from Pitt in December 2024 after an eight-year legal battle, has already begun exploring international destinations. She has previously spoken about wanting to spend more time in Cambodia — where her eldest son Maddox was born — and visiting family across the globe.
The Maria star purchased her historic 1913 Los Angeles mansion in 2017 for $24.5 million. The 11,000-square-foot property features six bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and was once owned by legendary director Cecil B. DeMille.
For Jolie, the decision to move is also about creating a safer and more peaceful environment for her family. She has openly expressed that she finds “more humanity” in other parts of the world compared to Los Angeles, valuing privacy and tranquility for her children.
