Kate Hudson can’t stop gushing about her co-star Hugh Jackman as the pair gear up for the release of their highly anticipated musical drama, Song Song Blue.
The 46-year-old actress, known for her vibrant energy and effortless charm, recently shared what it was like collaborating with Jackman — describing the experience as nothing short of “magical.”
Hudson told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s hard not to feel magic with Hugh; he’s a magical, sparkly man. He’s got this very youthful spirit, and his generosity of spirit is wide and large.”

In the film, based on a true story, Hudson and Jackman portray a married couple who form a Neil Diamond tribute band, exploring love, loss, and the power of music that binds them together.
Discussing how they built their on-screen chemistry, the Running Point star explained that the duo spent significant time recording music together before stepping on set.
“We got in there and I think it was like finding the vibe because it’s one thing to record for a recording, it’s another thing to record for live, which is what we were doing,” she revealed.
“It was kind of fun to find the imperfections and what we were going to be doing on the day.”
Hudson added that the time they spent rehearsing songs helped them form a genuine bond — essential for playing an intimate couple on screen.
“Recording together gave us the chance to really get to know each other before filming those deeper scenes,” she said.
Song Song Blue marks Hudson’s latest foray into musical storytelling following her acclaimed performance in Music, while Jackman brings his signature charisma and stage experience from The Greatest Showman.
The heartfelt film is set to hit theaters on December 25, promising a soulful mix of romance, nostalgia, and melody that’s sure to strike a chord with audiences this holiday season.
