Prince Harry left Americans in stitches during his latest appearance on Hasan Minhaj’s Doesn’t Know podcast on Wednesday, October 29. The Duke of Sussex attempted to master an American accent, bringing laughter to both the host and audience.
During the interview, Minhaj challenged Harry to try an American accent. When Harry asked, “Which part of America?” Minhaj replied, “Anywhere,” handing the Duke a sentence to recite.
Harry’s first attempt was: “I ordered breadsticks with ranch dressing at Applebee’s.” Though he stumbled initially, laughed, and asked Minhaj to repeat it, the Prince eventually pulled it off, joking that he was “just sitting here sweating.”
The comedian praised the effort: “That was decent,” and added, “Hey, do you like my Cybertruck?” prompting Harry to repeat the line in his best American tone. Off-camera, Minhaj told the crew, “You guys out there, you cannot laugh like this. We’re having a real thing.”
The Duke also quipped about the audience’s reaction, unsure if their laughter was “encouraging or mocking,” before adding a playful, “Come on, y’all.” Harry capped off the segment with a spirited “Yee-haw,” impressing Minhaj and viewers alike.
Harry and Meghan Markle have been living in California since stepping back from royal duties in 2020. When asked about the “most American thing” he does now, Harry humorously said surfing, questioning whether it was truly “American or Californian.”
The conversation also touched on more serious topics, including the harmful effects of social media on children. Harry highlighted his work with the Parents’ Network, an initiative supporting families affected by online harm, showing that while he can make fans laugh, he’s also committed to meaningful advocacy.
Prince Harry’s podcast appearance revealed both his playful side and his dedication to social causes, blending humor and heart in equal measure.
