Sydney Sweeney is embracing a fresh chapter in her life following the end of her engagement to Jonathan Davino. The 28-year-old actress “has fully moved on,” a source told PEOPLE, even though she has maintained amicable contact with her ex.
Over the weekend, Sweeney was spotted riding in the passenger seat of Davino’s car in Los Angeles, a brief outing months after calling off their wedding. While they remain in occasional contact, she reportedly has no intention of rekindling the romance.
“She’s really tried to keep things amicable. He still asks to see her and she has when she’s had the time, but she’s never getting back together with him,” the insider said.

Sweeney is currently seeing music executive Scooter Braun. The relationship, initially described as “casually hooking up” in September, appears to be growing more serious, with the pair last seen together on September 30 in Los Angeles.
“She’s happy with Scooter and thrilled about her career. She has everything she could ever wish for,” the source added.
Professionally, Sweeney has been busy preparing for her latest film, Christy, where she portrays real-life boxer Christy Martin. At an October screening, she reflected on the personal impact of playing Martin, saying the role “taught me how to stand up for myself more and feel stronger in my personal life [and] my work life.”
During her speech at Variety’s Power of Women event on October 29, Sweeney shared empowering words for young women:
“Playing [Martin] taught me that surviving isn’t the end of the story. It is the beginning of reclaiming it. I hope that you know that your power is already within you. You don’t have to wait for permission to be brave. You don’t have to shrink yourself to make others comfortable. And if you fall, you can just get right back up.”
Christy is set to arrive in theaters this Friday, marking another milestone in Sweeney’s busy year — both personally and professionally.
