Olivia Rodrigo has officially announced her third studio album, titled You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, which is set to release on June 12, 2026.
Before revealing the album, the 23-year-old artist surprised fans by wiping her Instagram account, creating buzz online. In her post announcing the new project, Rodrigo wrote:
“My third album ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ is out June 12th. I am so proud of this record, and I can’t wait for you to hear it. Available for preorder now!”
Album Cover and Collaborations
Alongside the announcement, Rodrigo shared the album’s striking cover art, featuring the pop star upside down on a swing, reflecting the emotional and introspective tone of the record.

For the album, she collaborated once again with Dan Nigro, who produced her previous two projects. The creative partnership has become a signature of Rodrigo’s evolving sound, blending candid lyricism with contemporary pop production.
Writing From a Joyful Place
Despite the album’s melancholic title, Rodrigo revealed that writing it posed a unique challenge: capturing bittersweet emotions while experiencing personal happiness.
“It was a creative challenge to write from a joyful place. When you’re experiencing that you’re connected to someone, or feeling really good, you’re not in your head thinking about bittersweet poems!” she explained.
You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love promises to continue Rodrigo’s tradition of emotionally charged storytelling, showcasing her growth as both a songwriter and performer.
Fans can pre-order the album now and look forward to its official release on June 12, 2026.
