Tay Lautner, wife of Taylor Lautner, has spoken candidly about the emotional journey behind announcing their first pregnancy.
The 29-year-old shared her thoughts on the decision to go public during an episode of her podcast, The Squeeze, revealing that her husband’s fame made the announcement feel particularly daunting.
Nervous About Sharing Personal News
Tay admitted she had never shared such a personal aspect of her life online before.
“I’ve never shared anything this personal with the internet before. And I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous about it,” she said.
She also reflected on their wedding, noting that she had shared very little about it online, emphasizing that privacy has always been something sacred in her life.
“Being married to someone that is in the spotlight, your privacy, I’ve had to learn, is almost sacred,” Tay explained.
The Mental Health Factor
Tay revealed that her decision to share her pregnancy was also influenced by her platform and her dedication to discussing mental health.
“I wouldn’t be doing justice to my platform by not sharing the experience since I talk about mental health all the time,” she said.
While she plans to share more about the journey, she also asked fans to respect her boundaries regarding how much she reveals.
Overwhelmed by Fan Response
The Lautners announced the pregnancy on Instagram on March 26, 2026, and Tay admitted she was not expecting the overwhelming love and attention from fans.
“My phone that day was blowing up like crazy, and I’ve just never experienced anything like that before,” she said.
“It put into perspective how precious this pregnancy and this baby is.”
A Precious Journey
For Tay, the pregnancy announcement has become a meaningful moment, combining joy, reflection, and a sense of responsibility to her fans.
“Now I don’t know exactly everything I’m going to share. But I will be sharing stuff a lot,” she added.
The couple’s fans continue to celebrate the exciting news, sending love and support as they prepare to welcome their first child together.
