A Florida jury on Monday found three young men guilty in the shooting death of the rising rap star known as XXXTentacion in 2018.

On June 18, 2018, American rapper Jahseh Onfroy, better known by his stage name XXXTentacion, was tragically shot and killed outside a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. On December 10, 2021, three men were found guilty of his murder.

Dedrick Williams, Michael Boatwright, and Trayvon Newsome were charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery in connection with the shooting of XXXTentacion. Williams was the first to be arrested, just two days after the murder. Boatwright and Newsome were arrested in July 2018 and August 2018, respectively.

The trial, which began on November 8, 2021, lasted for several weeks and included testimony from witnesses, as well as evidence such as surveillance footage and DNA analysis. The prosecution argued that the defendants planned and carried out the robbery and murder of XXXTentacion.

Sentencing was set for April 6. The first-degree murder conviction could send them to prison for life.

The murder of XXXTentacion shocked the music world and his fans, who mourned his death and celebrated his music. He was known for his unique style, blending elements of hip-hop, punk, and emo into his music, as well as his troubled past and legal issues.
