Russia said on Friday that an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague against Russian President Vladimir Putin was meaningless.

The foreign Ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, said on her Telegram channel, “The decisions of the international criminal court have no meaning for our country, including from a legal point of view.”

Spokesperson for đŸ‡·đŸ‡ș foreign affairs ministry Zakharova said: "Russia bears no obligations on the decisions of ICC Rome Statute"

She added, “Russia is not a party to the Rome statute of the international criminal court and bears no obligations under it.”

The ICC on Friday announced it had issued an arrest warrant against Putin for the “unlawful deportation” of Ukrainian children.

However, Russia is not a member of the ICC. It was unclear how the ICC planned to enforce the warrant.
