Elon Musk has reclaimed the title of the richest person in the world, according to Bloomberg’s calculation.
Last December, the Tesla CEO Elon Musk was dethroned as the world’s richest man by Bernard Arnault, the French tycoon who owns 48% of fashion company LVMH but Musk regained the top spot today, edging out Arnault by $2 billion.
Bloomberg reported that as of Monday’s market close, Musk’s net worth was around $187.1 billion, surpassing Arnault’s fortune of $185.3 billion.
However, Musk might hold the current title of the richest person in the world, but he also holds a record for the biggest fortune ever lost by anyone in history. Late last year, Musk became the first person ever to lose $200 billion in wealth — after his net worth slid from some $340 billion in Nov. 2021 to $137 billion in Dec. 2022.
