On Monday night, Bright Flashes of lights were seen across the Australian sky were likely to have remains of a Russian rocket, the country’s space agency said.

The flashy display was seen over the southern states of Victoria and Tasmania, stunning stargazers who supposed it might be a meteor. But the Space Agency of Australia said that it was more likely to have been a Russian Soyuz-2 rocket re-entering the Earth’s atmosphere.

The Space Agency added that the rocket had been launched from Plesetsk Cosmodrome in Russia’s northwest.
