On Thursday, Kim Jong Un, the North Korean leader discharged the country’s military chief and called for war preparations. He also emphasizes enhancing weapons production by conducting more military exercises, state media reported.
The recent actions came at a meeting of the Central Military Commission on Wednesday, a few days after Kim inspected country’s major weapons manufacturers.
The gathering of the military comes as South Korea and the United States prepare for joint military exercises later this month, which Pyongyang notices as drills for attack and has oftentimes alerted could begin an “overwhelming” move in response.
During the meeting, Kim discharged, Pak Su Il, Chief of the military staff replacing him with, Ri Yong Gil, Vice Marshal, KCNA said
State media added that the main purpose of conducting the meeting was “the issue of making war rehearsals” including “ensuring more influential strike means” to assure “perfect military willingness for a war”.
The report added that Kim called for all war manufacturing factories to boost mass production of different weapons and arm equipment.
North Korean leader called for actual war drills to operate newly utilize latest arms and equipment, it added.
Kim called a significant determination to boost the war preparations of the KPA in an offensive way, KCNA reported.
The meeting also concerned preparations for a monumental parade to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of North Korea on September 9.
