Operating incognito under the pseudonym CroissantEth, the developer utilized ChatGPT’s capabilities to draft a cryptocurrency contract, establish its very own blockchain token, and christen it as “AstroPepeX,” complete with the ticker symbol $APX.
Interestingly, ChatGPT initially proposed the name “FluffyUnicorn Coin” for this digital currency. However, CroissantEth sought a more suitable identity within the cryptocurrency community, prompting a deeper conversation with the AI chatbot. This discussion provided the necessary context about cryptocurrencies, ultimately leading to the creation of “AstroPepeX.”
To add an extra layer of appeal to the token, CroissantEth employed another AI tool from OpenAI, known as DALL-E, a text-to-image AI generator. DALL-E was instrumental in crafting the visual representation of the token.
The Genesis of AstroPepeX
CroissantEth, an anonymous Ethereum developer, has a track record of releasing code that enables AI tools to deploy new ERC-20 tokens on the Ethereum platform. These ERC-20 tokens adhere to a standard for Fungible Tokens, ensuring that each token is identical in type and value to another.
Detailing the procedure, CroissantEth explained, “My approach involved incorporating GPT into the conventional ERC20 contract to maintain simplicity, considering it a prudent choice for an initial endeavor.” Nevertheless, the developer underscored the flexibility of customizing solidity code to fashion tokens with unique attributes, such as the ability to be minted, specific taxation rates, or governance parameters.
Interestingly, the idea to create a meme coin using ChatGPT arose serendipitously as CroissantEth aimed to explore the capabilities of ChatGPT in conjunction with Ethereum smart contracts.
While ChatGPT cannot directly deploy a token on the Ethereum blockchain, developers can leverage OpenAI’s API to customize applications and link them to Ethereum networks for token creation.
