Elon Musk Plans to Launch “TruthGPT” Chatbot to Counter AI’s Partisan Influence

Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk has announced plans to develop his own version of an artificial intelligence chatbot called “TruthGPT” to counter the partisan influence of existing AI technology. During an exclusive interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, the Twitter and Tesla CEO expressed his concerns about how AI software can affect freedom of information.

Musk explained that TruthGPT will be a “maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe.” He believes that an AI that cares about understanding the universe is less likely to pose a threat to humanity than an AI programmed by left-wing experts who train the chatbots to lie.

“I’m going to start something which I call TruthGPT, or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe,” Musk told Carlson. “And I think this might be the best path to safety in the sense that an AI that cares about understanding the universe is unlikely to annihilate humans because we are an interesting part of the universe.”

Musk had initially helped fund the development of ChatGPT, an AI app developed by progressive programmers, with the intention of controlling it. However, he noted during the interview that the project was taken away from him, and it is now owned by Microsoft and Google.

Carlson noted that the deeper problem is not just that AI could become autonomous and turn humans into slaves, but that it could control people’s understanding of reality and do so in a dishonest way. This, in turn, could have a detrimental impact on the outcome of elections.

Musk has been warning about the dangers of AI for years and has called for regulation. He even used his only meeting with then-President Obama to warn of the software’s capabilities.

“AI is more dangerous than, say, mismanaged aircraft design or production maintenance or bad car production in the sense that it has the potential, however small one may regard that probability, but it is not trivial; it has the potential of civilizational destruction,” Musk said.

Musk’s plan to create TruthGPT is a response to the growing concerns over the partisan influence of existing AI technology. As the technology continues to advance, it is becoming increasingly important to ensure that it is programmed to serve humanity’s best interests. With Musk’s plan, he hopes to create an AI chatbot that is designed to seek the truth and promote a more balanced and impartial understanding of reality.
