On Thursday, Elon Musk announced that his social media platform X will start offering facilities for video and audio calling, the latest move towards transforming the formerly known as Twitter into an “everything app.”
Without determining when the latest features would be available, Musk wrote in X, “Video & audio calls coming to X.” He added the new features of both video and audio calling would work on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC systems.
X is an effective global address book, that group of characteristics is amazing, the owner of X added.
Last month, Elon Musk and his recently hired chief executive Linda Yaccarino reported the moderating of Twitter as X, saying it would become an “everything app” enlightened by Chinese WeChat that would allow its users to socialize as well as manage their finances.
CoinWire, the crypto website reported this week that the payment branch of X, Twitter Payments LLC was given a “crucial” currency transmitter license on Monday from the US state of Rhode Island, allowing it to “engage in cryptocurrency-related activities” such as exchanges, wallets, and payment processors.
The report added that the license allows X to “securely store, transfer, and promote the exchange of digital assets on behalf of X’s users.
Since Musk purchased Twitter in October 2022, the social media platform’s advertisement business has tumbled as marketers soured on his leadership style and many firings that gutted content moderation.
In response, Musk has moved towards making a subscriber base and pay model in a hunt for new revenue.
Musk also removed the old logo of Twitter (globally identified blue bird) and replaced it with a white X.
