OpenAI is on the path to generating more than $1 billion of annual earnings as firms embrace the technology behind ChatGPT, the generative AI bot that torched a surge of artificial intelligence investment.

OpenAI is making about $80 million of earnings per month, an individual reported on the topic said, requesting to talk anonymously about unrevealed numbers. The Information first revealed OpenAI’s earnings, including that in 2022 it lost around $540 million creating GPT-4 and ChatGPT.

A spokesperson for the firm didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

OpenAI is considered one of the few firms at the forefront of generative AI, which can make content from videos to poems out of simple user commands. Since November, OpenAI has operated with firms from fledgling firms to significant companies to include the technology in their companies and products.

This month, it launched a corporate version of ChatGPT with other features added and privacy protection, the OpenAI’s most important step yet to draw a comprehensive combination of business customers and increase income from its most prominent product.

The rollout of ChatGPT Enterprise is a movement onward in OpenAI’s strategies to earn money from its universal chatbot, which is extremely famous but very costly to use because powerful AI models demand lots of computing capability.

OpenAI has already taken actions toward making income from ChatGPT, such as by selling a premium subscription and suggesting firms paid access to its application programming interface, which developers can operate to add the chatbot to other applications.
