According to the financial daily Handelsblatt, the call was in response to Chancellor Olaf Scholz‘s announcement in which he announces that Germany would send Leopard 2 tanks to help Ukraine to fight against Russia.

BSI spokesman said it was hard to attribute attacks to hackers. They call for action and then a lot of people take part. Attackers made several websites unavailable. Moreover, BSI said, Attacks were largely repelled with no serious effect on Public administrations.

The interior ministry for southwestern Baden-Wuerttemberg state acknowledged “nationwide” DDoS attacks since Wednesday evening against websites, including those of public administration and the regional police.

While the war is going on between Russia and Ukraine, Germany is on high alert. As they have a threat from Russia In October, the Federal Office for Information Security said that the threat level for hacking attacks and other cybercrime activities was higher “than ever”.
