Adam Sandler recently opened up about his daughters’ growing concern for his health and well-being. During an exclusive interview with People Magazine at the New York City premiere of his Netflix comedy special, Adam Sandler: Love You, on August 20, the 57-year-old actor shared how his daughters, Sadie and Sunny, have been encouraging him to take better care of himself.
“They’re always watching out for me, just like I did for my dad,” Sandler explained. “I remember constantly telling my dad to quit smoking because I wanted him to be around for a long time. Now, my kids are doing the same for me—telling me to slow down and eat more healthily.”
This follows a candid conversation Sandler had on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, where he mentioned that his daughter Sadie had suggested he consider getting the same personal trainer he used while preparing for his role in You Don’t Mess with the Zohan.
Reflecting on his former fitness habits, Sandler admitted, “I used to take working out really seriously, but now it’s hard to keep up. I play basketball, and then I eat, and every time I do, I ask myself, ‘Why are you doing this? You don’t need it.’ But it’s tough to stop, and I’ve put on a little weight.”
Sandler humorously added, “Sadie keeps asking, ‘Dad, why don’t you get the Zohan trainer back? Why did you stop?’ But I always tell her it’s a lot of hard work.”
On the career front, Sandler is preparing for the release of his latest comedy special, set to debut on Tuesday, August 27.
