Adam Scott recently revealed his friends Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard had a “nasty” response to the season 2 finale of Severance, sharing their frustration over the show’s cliffhangers.
During an appearance at the red carpet ahead of Severance‘s PaleyFest panel on March 22, Scott told People Magazine that Bell and Shepard had sent him some harsh voicemails after watching the finale. “I have a voicemail from them, and it’s very nasty,” Scott said, adding that the messages were “deeply offensive.” While he joked that he had yet to respond, Scott promised, “I will. I will.”
The actor explained that Bell and Shepard had seen the season ahead of its release thanks to advance screeners, as the duo was invited to join Scott and Severance co-creator Ben Stiller on their podcast. “They were just lovely. They really loved it,” Scott shared about their initial reaction to the show.

Despite their positive initial feedback, Scott said their views on the season’s cliffhangers were far from friendly. “We’ve been watching it for a while, and the whole season we’ve been loving it. And so whenever people watch the end of the season, we’re so curious what they thought of it and dying to hear where they came out at the end and what they thought of the ending.”
The actor admitted that while Bell and Shepard’s reactions were important to him, their voicemails left him laughing. He had previously shared their humorous but angry messages on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where the duo expressed their frustration over the show’s unresolved plotlines.
Fans of the show can expect more drama and suspense when season 3 of Severance drops. As Scott’s friends continue to send their voicemails, it seems the show’s gripping cliffhangers will keep viewers — and celebrities alike — on edge.
