In a recent exclusive interview with Vogue for their November cover story, Angelina Jolie opened up about a challenging period in her life following her 2016 divorce from Brad Pitt. The 48-year-old actress candidly spoke about the struggles she and her children faced in the aftermath of the highly publicized separation.

Jolie revealed, “We had a lot of healing to do. We’re still finding our footing,” as she reflected on the turbulent times that followed her divorce. During this difficult period, Jolie acknowledged the profound impact her children had on her life. She explained, “I was 26 when I became a mother. My entire life changed. Having children saved me — and taught me to be in this world differently.”

“I was 26 when I became a mother, My entire life changed. Having children saved me. I think, recently, I would’ve gone under in a much darker way had I not wanted to live for them. They’re better than me, because you want your children to be.”
